One of the most popular public relations mediums is print. The biggest misconception is that a simple press release will get you guaranteed exposure in print. Not that confident with your writing skills? Friedman says, " Your writing needs to be in the style of newspapers and magazines, so hire someone that has that ability. " Articles published will create an expert status for you, thus make sure to add all of your impressive personal information. Friedman adds, " Most publications will let you write something generous about yourself, what you do and how to contact you, in exchange for your free article." 2. Author an Opinion Letter Friedman says, "Write about a controversial topic and send it on to the Editor of newspapers around the country. . Don't forget to put your credentials at the bottom of the letter so you get the recognition of being a published expert."

3. Create Photo Opportunities Every publication out there are on the lookout for great photos to publish in their titles. " Create a local event - a fundraiser, an art show, a local or national contest", says Friedman . " Then get the press interested and attending. Can't get them to come to the event? Just send them the photo while the event is still current! "

4. Recycle Your Print Coverage Friedman says, "Anytime you receive a newspaper or magazine placement, make sure to send a reprint to a local publication with a pitch and new angle. " Get your daily reprints to nationals. Get your articles out to trade magazines and newspaper nationally. . Post articles on your website. "An article that grabs the attention of the media should be used until there is no interest left " says Friedman .
