My Ebay, My Ebooks.

by Edson Buchanan

Electronic commerce has leveled the playing field between small startups and the largest companies in the world. The Internet has allowed startups to pose a direct challenge to big businesses, forcing them to adapt. Electronic commerce allows the smallest businesses and even individuals to sell directly to customers. Items you could sell include everything from jewelry or clothing to movies and ebooks.

If you are a writer, a good option is to sell your writings on an electronic commerce website. You can readily design an eye-catching book cover by using photo editing software. Through my ebay experience, however, I found that there is more to selling ebooks than just making a pretty book cover.

The quality of your product is of paramount importance in the success of failure of your online business. You have to be creative and make sure that the ebook appeals to a common man. It is also important to write on a topic which has been previously untouched or at least write in a unique way even if other titles exist on the same topic. My ebay experience has taught me that if you know how to write and write good, the part on how to sell on ebay is quite simple.

The first thing to do is to create a profile on an electronic commerce website. I suggest that you design your business around a popular electronic commerce website instead of an independent personal website. Getting people to visit your website would become a big challenge and you will end up spending thousands of dollars on search engine optimization.

You must make sure your site is certified as a secure e-commerce website or else visitors will not be comfortable in purchasing for the site. However, on the flip side, many popular e-commerce portals that pair up buyers and sellers only charge a small fee per transaction while in turn offering superb services.

From my online experience on ebay, I have come to know the value of mouth publicity. So if you have a online shop and someone makes a purchase and follow up with you after some time then you must ask for his or her comment on the purchasing product. Just request them to write a review on your product in your website as well as in electronic commerce website. This will make a useful effect on your customer.
