With a physical business, this may be hard to come up with. But in cyberspace, it becomes a lot simpler than you may think. The Internet has revolutionized the business startup model we have always known. Long story short - you CAN start that business with minimal initial asset outlay.

The only thing you really need is a good idea to start with. Here are a few to get your creative juices flowing.

1. Freelance writing is a growing online opportunity that almost anyone can do. People are willing to pay for anything from blog posts to SEO quality content. What does it take to start this type of business? You need a computer, a list of clients and MS Office Word, which is a word processor. This is fairly simple to do with the exception of the client list. This is an instant business that offers instant results in many cases. 2. The virtual shopping malls are trendy. All you need is a computer, an internet domain registered in your own name and a membership of an affiliate website such as LinkShare. Various affiliate sites provide all the banners, text ads and other advertising materials you need to place on your website. Then you will begin driving visitor traffic and begin makes sales. 3. Sell advertising space. Start a newsletter or content rich web page and once you get a decent amount of traffic, offer to place ads on the site for a fee. Trust me, business owners are always looking for new advertising spaces. It gives them access to new clientele and customers that they may not have been reaching before. They will be willing to pay and pay well for that privilege.

These three self employment ideas are only meant to get the juices flowing. You will need to find that special 'something' that fits for you and works for you. Everybody has an area of 'specialty' that will work wonders for them. Once you find yours, the rest will be history, as they say.

Other basic ideas are day trading stocks or trading foreign currencies. These are a bit more involved and require a little learning but are real possibilities nonetheless. Many people use the Internet to run businesses of all types and sizes.

What you do is entirely up to you. So be sure to choose wisely and pick the right business. If you love what you do, your customers and prospects will see your passion and be drawn to you for it. When you provide a positive experience, your customers will tell other people about you. The folks they tell about you will patronize your business.
