Keeping Your Employees Happy

by Frank Barnett

January and February are notoriously slow business months. One reason for the profit stagnation for the first two months of the year is due to Black Friday's late arrival during the month of November. Holiday expenditure plus the economic stagnation makes people hold tightly onto their money more, not only that, it's a pressing concern that the work force lessens as well. Jobsmen are found to be plagued with distraction and a loss for focus. People are having a hard time keeping time on their hands, and the most affected time would be their time as employees. With the building stress from work related issues, workers are often engaged in injuries which makes them less productive and a liability to the company and its expenses. If the workers doesn't have enough focus, then the company loses more money because of them.

3 Ways to Immediately Regain Lost Time

In order to regain time that has been lost, take note of these suggestions. To see which one is more effective, remember to monitor your men.

1. Get on straight to the point. For every employee, they get their share of distraction for more than two hours a day and that can be problematic. Most of that comes by way of conversational distraction. A common, not to mention easy, solution is sound masking, or the use of in-tile speakers to emit white noise for the masking of conversational distraction. Highly effective, this method of dealing with distraction is fast, simple, and aesthetically pleasing.

2. It would be wise to provide them with ergonomic materials in order to reduce their cases of discomfort in order to increase their efficiency. When you put the comfort of your workers first by letting them use ergonomic materials, you're taking away from them the possibility of stress and injury which is by far, a good thing. These products are a good investment since they have a lot of long lasting health benefits despite their prices. By providing your team with top notch equipment, you also attract top notch workers to work for you. It's a win for all situation.

3. Make sure to enforce rest from the usual when you sense that they need it. Quiet time is not for kicking back, but rather a tech-free and/or sound-free chunk of time devoted to hands-on work, group collaboration, or personal organization. Your workers will see how much you care about them when you give a 30 minute quiet time per day since this would mean that you do not wish to stress them out with work. Most finds it more productive to do this during Fridays at around 4-5pm since it's the least productive time for work. They can pack their desks up for the day and prepare for Monday presentations.

As you can see, workers are distracted and unfocused, and disengaged workers cost you money. You don't have to implement them all, but by using any one or even combination of these tips, you'll see immediate results.
